Middleton & North Dalton CC was formed in late 2016. After many years as rivals, Middleton-on-the-Wolds CC and North Dalton CC decided to pool their resources and ensure the survival of both clubs as a joint entity, creating a club with two Saturday teams and three Evening League teams. Since then, the club has continued to thrive and grow with on-field success for all teams and improvements made to the club's facilities.
Our inaugural 2017 season was succesfful one for the 1st XI, seeing them win the York & District Senior Cricket League Holderness Division 3 title by over 100 points. Since the, they have retained their status in Division 2, finishing 3rd in the Covid-19-affected 2020 season and narrowly missing out on promotion in 2021, again finishing 3rd. Ricky Woodmansey is the club's leading 1st XI run scorer on 3655, with Tom Walgate on 2023 and Jonny Addy on 1806. Shaun Tate is the 1sts leading wicket taker, with 126 scalps. Mike Anderson has 110 while Richard Brigham has 99.
The 2nd XI started life in York & District Senior Cricket League Division 4, achieving respectable 7th and 6th place finishes in 2017 and 2018, before winning promotion with a 2nd place finish in 2019. After the Covid-shortened 2020 season saw them gain valuable experience, the 2nds then comfortably avoided relegation in 2021, finishing in 9th place. Dale Bower leads the way in the 2nd XI run charts, amassing 1521, followed by Dave Newlove on 749 and Jack Conner on 625. Bower is also the 2nds leading wicket taker with 84, closely followed by Jason Hullah (83) and Jack Riby (46).
The club has won most of its silverware so far over the shorter form of the game, with several success in 20-over competitions, starting with the Driffield Evening Cup In 2017. After bowling Staxton CC out for 112, MNDCC were 16-0 when rain curtailed precedings. Statxton were given the option of a replay but conceded, thus handing MND the trophy. This trophy was retained in 2018, with a win over Brandesburton in the final. 58 from Alec Drury and 53 from Gerorge Drury saw MND post 150-3, before 3-19 from Col Suggitt and 2-20 from Dave Brent restricted Brandesburton to 119-8.
